Transform yourself to release the child’s self-healing power.
This intensive, cohort-based training transforms your therapeutic practice by grounding you in the complete Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) model. Spanning four weekends of live webinar instruction over a three-month journey, this course bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical application.
Rather than just learning techniques, you will undergo a personal and professional transformation. You will learn to view play as a child's natural language, mastering the core philosophy required to become a fully present, empathic witness to a child's internal world.
In this 3-month cohort, you will:
Learn all of CCPT: Master the foundational history, stages of the play process, and the core philosophy of Garry Landreth and Virginia Axline.
Facilitate the Play Relationship: Develop the presence required to build a therapeutic bond based on acceptance and safety.
Master the Skills of Response: Gain clinical fluency in facilitative responding, verbal tracking, and core healing messages.
Limit Setting & Choice Giving: Implement the ACT model to facilitate child self-responsibility and self-discipline.
Clinical Readiness: Learn to curate essential playroom materials and partner effectively with parents and teachers.
Course Format & Credits:This training provides a total of 36 APT CEs and 25 NBCC CEs.
25 Hours of Live Webinar Instruction: Four weekends (Saturday & Sunday) of comprehensive, interactive training.
11 Hours of Independent Study: Foundational reading from Garry Landreth’s Play Therapy: The Art of the Relationship (accompanied by a book quiz).
Clinical Practice: Apply your learning through independent clinical practice throughout the 3-month duration to solidify your skills.
Emerge from this journey transformed, confident, and fully ready to do CCPT.
