ON DEMAND Workshop overview: A counselor's journey navigating DID with a client's 20 distinct parts. Explore play therapy interventions used to assist in awareness, struggles of managing parts, understanding her younger parts, and accepting the role they have played in her life. Gain knowledge in navigating the intricate inner world of parts with sensitivity.
Workshop level: Intermediate
Objectives: At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Identify and explain at least three therapeutic powers of play in Gestalt Play Therapy methods and analyze their specific applications in treating Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).
Demonstrate understanding of how expressive art techniques can be utilized to engage and work with different parts (alters) in DID treatment, using specific case examples.
Describe the integration of energy work techniques with Gestalt Play Therapy in DID treatment, focusing on grounding strategies and their therapeutic benefits.
Analyze the function of different parts within a DID system considering Jungian theory and archetypes and explain how recognizing these functions contributes to a holistic treatment approach.
