About This Course
Description:
This session introduces counselors to the growing phenomenon of gaming addiction, providing an understanding of its impact on mental health, relationships, and daily functioning. Attendees will learn how to assess and treat gaming addiction using evidence-based interventions tailored to clients of all ages.
Objectives:
- Define gaming addiction and distinguish it from healthy gaming behaviors.
- Review current research on the psychological and social impacts of gaming addiction.
- Learn assessment tools and screening methods for identifying gaming addiction.
- Apply evidence-based interventions for addressing gaming addiction in a therapeutic setting.
